Description
Restorative yoga is a less dynamic form of yoga than many others. The main aim of restorative yoga is to give a person and their body the opportunity to rejuvenate and restore themselves. During a restorative yoga session the person will experience a number of restful supported poses to give the body a chance to heal. In addition the aim is to quieten the mind to allow it to renew itself as well.
The benefits of restorative are similar to meditation due to the fact it focuses on quietness and restfulness. People who are suffering from chronic stress could find restorative yoga very useful for lifting the symptoms. It can also be helpful for reducing the heart rate and helping the body to function more effectively.
