Description

Russian massage is an alternative type of sports massage that was developed in Russia and the Soviet Union. It is thought to be more relaxing and less invasive then other types of sports massage. Russian massage uses kneading, stroking, rubbing and vibration techniques in order to remove tension from the muscles.

Russian massage is obviously very beneficial for people who practise a lot of sport and it is claimed it is useful for musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, neurological, gynaecological, internal disorders, and in post-surgical situations. It is thought to have a great affect on people suffering from stress and can be used for conditions such as asthma, insomnia, arthritis, bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, hip sprains and strains, rotator cuff injuries, myofascial pain, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) problems, headache, spastic colon, colic, constipation, and immune function disorders.
