Description

Manual Lymph drainage was developed by Dr Emil Vodder in the 1930s and involves the practitioner using a number of rhythmic pumping movements on the body in the direction of the lymph flow. The lymph is plasma like fluid that is used to aid the transportation of all other fluids around the body. A number of illnesses can be caused by a blockage in this flow. The process of manual lymph drainage will stimulate the lymph and increase its flow and circulation around the body.

The process of manual lymph drainage can be deeply relaxing and have a large number of benefits including strengthening the immune system. The therapy can also aid in the recovery process for wounds, burns, fractures, sprains and torn ligaments. In addition it has also been seen to help with sinusitis, rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, acne and other skin conditions.
