Colloidal silver a liquid suspension of microscopic particles of silver. The idea in colloidal silver therapy is that the patient will use the colloidal silver either internally or externally. There are various different applications that can be bought in the internet and it is a relatively inexpensive therapy. However it is worth pointing out that there have been no studies as to its effectiveness and so the benefits are really unknown. In addition if ingested in too high a dose it can lead to a build up of silver in the body which can cause discolouration of the skin, eyes and also of internal organs. It is also believed that colloidal silver can reduce the absorption of some conventional medicines.

There is still a lot of debate about the benefits of colloidal silver however as time is moving on more medicines are being approved that contain silver as the weight of evidence grows about its benefits.
