Breath therapy is a broad term that is used to cover various therapies that use breath to aid the healing process. Some of the therapies that may use breath include Breathwork, Yoga, Meditation, and relaxation response. The aim in most of these therapies is to use the breath is as a healer itself. Either the breath can be used as a focus during meditation or similar therapies. The main benefits are that it can aid with reduction in stress and anxiety and can also increase energy levels and flexibility. Breath therapy has also been used to treat a number of conditions including asthma, high blood pressure, headaches, and rheumatoid arthritis. As well as this is can help with reducing anger, hostility, exhaustion and to reduce blood pressure. Yoga has also been seen as a great compliment to conventional therapies for cancer, heart disease and AIDS mainly because it can help to keep stress levels low.
