Dyspepsia is the medical term for indigestion which occurs after eating. Usually people will suffer from pain in the upper abdomen shortly after a meal but can also get the following symptoms:

 

  • Heartburn
  • Bloating
  • Burping
  • quickly feeling 'full' after eating
  • feeling nauseous
  • vomiting

 

There are a number of antacids that can be bought over the counter to help with the condition but if the symptoms are severe you should seek medical advice. In addition you can also try a number of herbal remedies to help with the situation including chamomile, ginger, peppermint and perilla. In addition you could try slowing down your eating to give you body time to digest the food. Also a major contributing factor to indigestion is thought to be stress so you could also try therapies that help to reduce stress.
