There was recently a study published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology which looked at breast cancer sufferers. The main aim of the study was to consider joint pain that many women post menopause that suffer from breast cancer often experience as a symptom.

The results of the study showed a significant reduction in pain from people treated with acupuncture. In fact 20 per cent of those women taking pain medication said they no longer needed it and this was not reported amongst the control group. In addition those having acupuncture reported an improvement in physical well-being. This suggests acupuncture could be a very valuable complimentary therapy to conventional breast cancer treatments.
